The Guardians of the Brew
We are a collective of local strategists, tea planters, and sensory experts based right here in the district. We exist for one simple reason: The world’s finest tea is facing a perfect storm, and the old way of doing business is no longer enough to save it.
We are here to reclaim the narrative of the "Champagne of Teas".
The Reality on the Ground
To love Darjeeling is to understand its fragility. For over 150 years, these hills have produced a tea that cannot be replicated anywhere else on Earth. It is a miracle of geography—a collision of specific soil types (gneiss and schist), steep 70-degree slopes that drain the monsoon rains, and a high-altitude mist that stresses the bushes just enough to create complex flavor profiles. But today, that miracle is under threat.
The Scarcity
Annual production has collapsed from a historical peak of 14 million kilograms to just 6.3 million kilograms in the 2023-24 season.
Climate change is violently disrupting our delicate harvest cycles, bringing severe winter droughts when we need moisture and unseasonal hail when we need sun.

The Authenticity Gap
While Darjeeling produces less than 7 million kilograms of genuine tea, the global market sells nearly 40 million kilograms labeled as "Darjeeling".
This massive flood of counterfeit blends and adulterated products artificially depresses prices and severely dilutes the brand value of the true "Champagne of Teas".

The Broken Lineage
For over a century, the art of plucking "two leaves and a bud" was a heritage passed down through families.
Today, that chain is breaking as the youth migrate to cities for economic stability. This exodus has left estates facing crippling worker absenteeism rates of 40% to 60%.

We are here to close that gap. We believe that if you are drinking Darjeeling,
it should actually come from one of our 87 distinct estates.

Our Philosophy : The "Third Wave" of Tea
We don't view tea as a commodity; we view it as a luxury asset, much like fine wine. The coffee industry had its "Third Wave," moving from instant powder to single-origin beans. It is time for Darjeeling to do the same.
Estates, Not Brands
Just as you buy a Bordeaux or a Pinot Noir, we teach you to buy a Makaibari or a Castleton. We celebrate the differences between the "China Bush" planted in 1841 and the modern "Clonal" varieties.
Radical Transparency
We are building a platform that cuts through the supply chain. We believe in "Invoice Identity"—using the specific Estate Invoice Number (e.g., DJ-04) to trace your tea back to the very week it was plucked.
Honest Origins:
We respect our neighbors. Tea from Nepal ("Himalayan Tea") can be excellent, but it is not Darjeeling. We stand for truth in labeling.
The Mission
Our goal is to build the definitive Knowledge Hub and Direct Trade Marketplace for the region. By disintermediating the traditional auction-broker chain, we aim to restore critical profit margins to the estates and the workers who sustain them.
We are the archivists of the past—documenting the legacy of Dr. Archibald Campbell and the first seeds of 1841 —and the architects of the future, advocating for blockchain traceability and climate resilience.
We are Teas of Darjeeling.
